Senior Laboratory Technician

Patricia’s career exemplifies her commitment and expertise in biomedical research. Born in Madrid in 1994, she pursued her studies with determination, earning a dual degree in Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis, as well as Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory Science in 2018. Her professional path was enriched by notable internships at prestigious institutions, including the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (CBMSO), where she contributed to the research group on Transcription Factors and Heterochromatin Formation in Drosophila melanogaster. Additionally, at the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (CNIC), she played a key role in the Molecular and Genetic Cardiovascular Histopathology group. In 2019, Patricia’s career reached a new milestone when she was awarded a Youth Guarantee scholarship, allowing her to continue her work at CNIC with the Cardiovascular Proteomics group. Her commitment to research kept her at CNIC for two and a half years, where she refined her skills and made valuable contributions to key projects. In 2021, she joined the Brain Metastasis Group at CNIO, led by Manuel Valiente, where she now serves as a senior technician. Patricia is currently involved in two major projects: RENACER and the investigation of the impact of metastasis on neuronal circuits, collaborating with Mariam Al-Masmudi. In the RENACER project, she plays a vital role in processing human samples and managing related tasks. Her dedication and expertise were further recognized in 2024 at the AETEL National Congress, where she presented groundbreaking work on organotypic cultures derived from human samples, earning first prize for her outstanding presentation.
